Requirements for marriage contract
- The bride, groom and the bride's guardian must appear with their ID cards and original family booklet.
- Two witnesses who know the bride and her guardian must appear with their original ID cards.
- The bride and groom must bring pre-marital medical reports issued by an accredited hospital.
- The bride must give her explicit consent to the marriage. The marriage registrar will ask the bride about her consent and terms for marriage.
- The amount of dowry must be determined, whether it has been paid or not, and the advance and deferred amounts of dowry must be specified.
- If the bride is divorced, she must bring the original divorce certificate and make sure that her waiting period (iddah) has ended.
- If the marriage contract is being conducted on behalf of the guardian or the groom, the original power of attorney must be brought.
- If the bride's father or husband has died, the original legal heirs certificate must be brought.
