General Objective
To oversee the operations of private notaries, supervise their activities, advance the notarial profession, ensure compliance with the Notarization Law and its Implementing Regulations, and monitor notarial practices to uphold legal and professional standards while protecting clients' rights.
Organizational Affiliation
The Directorate reports administratively to the Vice Minister of Justice.
Directorate's Tasks
1. Oversee the qualification, licensing, registration, and license renewal of private notaries in accordance with the Notarization Law and its Implementing Regulations.
2. Monitor the performance of private notaries, supervise their notarial activities, and ensure adherence to regulations, guidelines, and professional responsibilities.
3. Review complaints, feedback, and inquiries related to private notaries' activities; resolve them where appropriate; refer cases to relevant authorities; and track the enforcement of disciplinary actions issued by the Committee for Reviewing Private Notaries' Violations.
4. Ensure the application of the Notarization Law, its Implementing Regulations, and related decisions and guidelines concerning notarial activities.
5. Collaborate with relevant authorities on matters pertaining to notarial procedures and contribute to enhancing notarial processes and service quality.
6. Develop proposals to advance the private notarial profession and participate in formulating strategic plans and objectives for notarial procedures in coordination with competent entities.
7. Verify private notaries' compliance with applicable regulations, including those on anti-money laundering and counter-terrorism financing, as they relate to notarial activities.
